MEET OUR POLICE DOG MASCOTS
KIDS’ ZONE
We are a national charity supporting, rehabilitating, protecting and celebrating serving and retired police dogs from across the United Kingdom. We also want to celebrate these dogs and their amazing achievements, and teach the next generation all about the important role they play in everyday policing.
MEET OUR MASCOTS
We’ve all heard the incredible stories of bravery and kindness shown by police dogs – but what happens when they retire from service?
Many people don’t realise that they don’t get any support from the force they served with once they’ve retired, and their new owners have to take charge of their care and all of the costs.
We help to ensure that these doggy heroes get the very best veterinary care and treatment so they can live long, happy and healthy retirements with their new families.
Meet some of our mascots and find out more about their stories and how we’ve helped them…
HELLO, I’M RPd CAPTAIN
Seven-year-old RPD Captain spent three years catching criminals and sniffing out the bad guys for West Midlands Police before he retired in 2022 when he was injured.
We helped the German Shepherd when he needed major spinal surgery and, thankfully, he’s now back on all four paws helping us to to spread the word about the important work we do to help him and all of his doggy pals.
HELLO, I’M RPd sox
Spaniel Sox – also known as Super Sox – was a sniffer dog with Surrey Police and she was trained to use her nose to smell cash, drugs and firearms.
The 11-year-old was excellent at her job and had a really sensitive nose so she could pick up the scent in all sorts of places. Her owner is so pleased that she’s been chosen to be a mascot so she can inspire the next generation of dog-lovers and police officers.
HELLO, I’M Rpd quantum
‘Fearless’ RPD Quantum helped with more than 250 arrests during his six-year career with Nottinghamshire Police. He even won a bravery award when he was stabbed in the line of duty while trying to catch the bad guys.
We help pay for monthly supplements to help his aches and pains after years of running, jumping and hard work on the beat. He wants to help us teach more people about police dogs and the important role they play.
HELLO, I’M Rpd fiji
Belgian Malinois Fiji was just a puppy when she joined Surrey Police as a puppy. But she went on to become a superstar police dog and worked hard for six years catching criminals, helping people in need, and fighting crime.
When she hurt her leg she had to retire and, since then, we’ve helped her with special injections for her sore skin so she can enjoy her retirement without feeling itchy all the time!
