What are some of the highlights of Izzy’s career?
“Izzy had a very busy career working at Royal Sandringham Estate and helping with Royal visits across Suffolk and Norfolk. She also worked at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.”

How did you adopt Izzy?
“One of my friends works in the police and worked with Izzy’s handler. When the opportunity came up to adopt Izzy I jumped at the chance!”
What is your proudest moment with Izzy?
“Izzy passed her Kennel Club Good Citizens Bronze Award and is now working towards her Silver Award.”
HOW WE’VE HELPED RETIRED POLICE DOG IZZY IN RETIREMENT
RPD Izzy worked for the Norfolk and Suffolk Constabulary Joint Dog Section as an explosive detection dog.
She worked at the Royal Estate at Sandringham as well as helping with Royal visits in the local area, supporting security at music festivals, and working at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
She worked for five-and-a-half years before retiring when she lost interest in aspects of searching.
She was adopted by Paul Watts in September 2024 after a friend of his told him about her.

She now lives with Paul and his other two spaniels and enjoys going to work with Paul, who delivers healthcare training, including pet first aid.
Paul signed Izzy up with our Foundation as he knew about the work we did.
When he spotted a lump on her face just a week after adopting her which was caused by a tooth abscess caused by a broken tooth.
Izzy needed antibiotics and surgery to remove the tooth – we covered 60% of the cost.
Paul said: “I now have a very happy and loving dog. Everyone loves her.”

“When the Foundation agreed to pay 60% of the bill it was great news as things were getting financially tight and anything would help.”
Paul, Izzy’s owner
